That's a factor you have to take into consideration when you play it. Two, Symphonia was the very first 3d title so in comparison to the games you've played it's going to be way outdated.

There might be a few low tier enemies with shitty voice acting but that's it. You can use the Gald you made in the battles to go back to town and buy some gels and the like at the item store. One, the voice acting isn't bad in Symphonia. But before doing that, we recommend you run around and level up everyone in your party until around the point where Lloyd reaches level five. Once out in the field, you simply have to go over to the right to reach the temple. The Zombies and Ghosts you meet in these battles won't provide you with an incredible challenge, but it'll get you used to Tales of Symphonia's dynamic fighting system. Then, save again and fight the enemies that come at you at the north end of town as you try to get towards the path that leads to the temple, learning some valuable lessons about fighting from your teammates in the process. This will raise each characters' defense by two. If you want, you can explore and find the item store near the south end of town, where you can (and probably should) buy Boots as an accessory for each of your three characters, at 100 Gald a piece.

After talking to him, feel free to hit up the save seal against the schoolhouse to save your game before exploring the town a bit. Once outside, the newly formed party of Lloyd, Colette, and Genis will run into a character named Frank (Colette's father) outside. Make sure to talk to the kid at the front of the classroom behind one of the first row desks to acquire a Magic Lens from him. You'll have to make a choice whether to go or leave, but while the choice you make directs what happens next immediately, the end result is the same, so pick whichever choice you want. When that's all said and done, attempt to leave the classroom, only to be stopped.

Try talking to everyone twice (this will be the only time I generally say that for the duration of the walkthrough…), since you can get more information out of some characters by talking to them a second, or even a third time. Use this opportunity to get a sense for the controls, explore the menu, et cetera. After some discussion between the teacher, Raine, and the class, she takes off to check up on something. After the initial introduction, you're brought to a classroom, where you're introduced to the lazy, sleepy main character, Lloyd.
